Surf Lesson Information

The combination of wave climate, beautiful water temperatures, and year round sunshine, make Dubai an ideal location for learning to surf.

Come experience the thrill of surfing the Arabian Gulf with Surf Dubai - The U.A.E’s first and leading surf school. Surf Dubai is an International Surfing Association (ISA www.isasurf.org) accredited school. All our instructors our fully qualified ISA Level 1 Surf Coaches and Beach Lifeguards.

Our lessons are tailored to suit the novice through to the intermediate surfer. Our instructors are in the water helping you with paddling, catching waves, standing up, maneuvering you surfboard, and surf etiquette. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never even touched a surfboard before, or if you’ve had a couple of lessons a few years back, our instructors are hand picked for their passion and enthusiasm to teach anyone and everyone!

Equipment

Specialised learner surfboards provided by Quiksilver are included with all lessons. Our boards are soft, safe, and incredibly stable, making them idea for learning to surf. Lessons can be arranged using students own equipment and our boards are available outside of lesson times.

Lesson Times

Private lessons are available 7 days a week from 8am to 5pm. Group lessons are held from 8am to 5pm on weekends and public holidays. All lessons are subject to sea conditions so keep check of our surf report and then call in to book a lesson at your convenience. Be sure to join the mailing list too!

A typical lesson will take between 1hour and 1.5 hours and include:

• Warm up and warm down stretching

• Equipment checks

• Wave simulation activities on the beach

• A variety and stand up techniques to suit each surfer

• Paddling out through rips

• Dealing with currents

• Catching steep and gentle waves

• Surfing etiquette

• Mastering turns and riding across the wave

• Plus much more!
